Welcome to Calasparra the Heart of Spain - We would like to
introduce you to Tierra del Sol near the small town of Calasparra
located in the region of Murcia, adjacent to the Segura river Valley,
and close to the Cazorla Mountain range,a place of natural beauty
and close to a protected national park. Tierra del Sol is connected
to the coast by a new and excellent network of motorways and rail
links to the cities of Murcia , Alicante and Granada. Murcia 30 mins
and Murcia Airport just less than 1 hour away. Murcia new airport 30
mins Alicante Airport 1 hour and La Manga and the Mar Manor just
over 1 hour.

is located just 25 minutes from the urban area of Murcia, a city which
is full of history, with a great variety of leisure activities and a

The properties are on the edge of
Calasparra which has all of the facilities, shops, supermarkets, banks,
a market (Friday) and a 24 hour medical centre (a full hospital is
located at Caravaca just 15 minutes drive). The area is beautiful and
largely undiscovered by tourists. Just a short drive 2 miles is the
beautiful Sanctuary of the Virgin de la Esperanza which has been carved
into the cliff face above the river Segura – a must see! For the more
adventurous there is river rafting, which includes some white water,
there is mountaineering, mountain walks, excellent fishing, caves with
cave paintings and a host of other treasures waiting to be discovered.
Many Europeans are now looking to move to Calasparra due to it’s good
climate and typical relaxed way of life.

Calasparra is famous throughout Spain for it’s rice
which is grown in paddy fields alongside the river. It is also well
known for it’s “Bull running” fiesta that is held every year. Just 15
minutes drive is the city of Caravaca de la Cruz. The city is dominated
by the Knights Templar fortress that guards the church at it’s heart.
Caravaca is one of the 5 holy cities in the World, a list that includes
Jerusalem and Rome. This area has a lot to offer.
      
Calasparra is around one and a quarter hours drive
from either Murcia (San Javier) or Alicante airports and it’s dual
carriageway most of the way. The new international airport of Corvera
will cut this time down to around 45 minutes when it opens in late 2006
/ early 2007.
 Just
a 15 minute drive is the tourist and pilgrimage destination of
Caravaca de la Cruz. Noted as being one of the 5 holy cities,
the old town is a lovely area to explore with a host of
beautiful buildings topped by the fortress that guards the large
church on top of the hill (containing a relic with an original
piece of the holy cross). This is real Spain!! Activities range
from walking and exploring the old towns and mountains, to raft
trips down the Rio Segura which has purpose built barbeques
along it’s banks – just take your food and charcoal!
The development is easily accessible, being one and a quarter
hours drive from either Alicante of Murcia (San Javier) airports
on good roads and motorways. The new Murcia International
airport (Corvera) will be a 45 minute drive when complete in
late 2006 and we feel will be instrumental in opening up this
region.
