therefore a challenge for precise players. Greens are

CAMPOAMOR
course is located 100 metres above sea level, is
bordered to the south by a canal which transfers
water from the River Tajo to the River Segura,
and there is an abundance of Mediterranean
vegetation and other ornamental plants. The 18
holes are laid out in two connected valleys,
surrounded by small hills which protect them
from the wind. The round is very varied, though
the upslopes are not too complicated, and the
fairway shots can be very difficult as some
greens are on high ground due to the contours of
the natural terrain, and are protected by
bunkers and exposed to the wind. Only two miles
from Villamartin,
Campoamor
was
opened in 1989 and, although not as hazardous as
Villamartin, it is the most panoramic of the
courses in the region. The expansive fairways,
excellent greens and the lakes deceive the
player somewhat, making this is a long and
testing course with six "dog legs" to keep you
on your toes.

LAS RAMBLAS is really spectacular, elevated tees, narrow
fairways and lightning greens. This is a great test of
golf and will be a memorable game. Las Ramblas means the
old river beds, you will see plenty of these during your
round! This 18-holer is on mountainous ground which
makes the course very interesting for players who like
to take a few risks. As it is very mountainous, it calls
for difficult strokes. It is worth mentioning the many
trees that surround the course, and the water hazards.
There are slopes are all along the course and although
some of them are very difficult, they make the game more
attractive and interesting. The course is not too long
and has wonderful views. Accuracy is required.

Altorreal Golf Course is situated half way between
Alicante and La Manga, just North West of Murcia City.
Altorreal is a great lay out with a combination of hilly
and flat holes with superb mountain scenery. Altorreal
18 hole course with a run of 6.239 metres is a brilliant
design of Dave Thomas. The course is located in a place
where a great variety of trees have been planted, such
as olive trees, carob trees and pine trees. Located at10

WEST COURSE
Recently completely renovated, the North
Course is now, for many players, the golfing
highlight at La Manga Club. The North Course
is more undulating than the South and offers
a different, yet no less challenging round
of golf. Relying on precision rather than
length, an added challenge is provided by
the 'barrancas' that snake their way through
the course.
These natural storm gullies feature on all
three golf courses and add an extra
dimension to the game.

Originally designed by Robert D.Putman, this
classic championship course was remodelled
in 1992 by Arnold Palmer who won the La
Manga Spanish Open here in 1975.
Located in the centre of the valley, with
wide palm-fringed fairways and few hidden
dangers, the South, whilst being a top
calibre championship course, is enjoyed by
golfers of all standards. Many strategically
positioned water hazards and bunkers will
punish wayward shots.
Set amid serene pine woodlands, the West
Course has frequent changes in elevation
with which to contend. This is a deceiving
course that demands the occasional blind
shot. A tight front nine contrasts with the
more open, but nonetheless challenging back
nine.
Charming and elusive, those who get the
better of the West Course will have played a
memorable round.
There
are 3 18-hole golf courses at La Manga Club,
including the championship South Course and the
scenic West Course. The North course was
totally refurbished last year and is brand new
and absolutely superb. In the heart of La Manga
Club, a 1,400 acre sporting paradise nestled
between the low hills which separate the
Mediterranean from the sea of La Manga del Mar
Menor in the South East of Spain. The resort is
set amidst lemon groves, bougainvilleas and
majestic palm trees that cover some of the
finest golf courses in Europe.
